About the Program

A MBHS banking student on the job.

Potential students must complete an application for employment, attend an interview and have a written recommendation from a teacher. After a review of this information, Franklin Savings Bank staff, along with Mt. Blue High School staff, will accept the most qualified students to work in our Mt. Blue High School Branch. Students will be required to take the banking class before they will be considered for the banking lab. Once completed, students will then review banking and the policies and procedures of Franklin Savings Bank while also learning customer confidentiality, professionalism, proper business attire, dependability and respect for their customers and supervisors with a trained staff member of Franklin Savings Bank. Once this has successfully been completed, students will work hands-on with money and bank documents, acquiring skills in cash handling, banking transactions and customer service through real banking situations and real live customers. Students will receive a half-credit and a certificate of completion from this course and will walk away with the experience and added confidence to work not only in banking or finance, but in any branch of the business world. Some of our most successful students have been hired as summer help at our local branches and transitioned to full time employees of Franklin Savings Bank.
